What is in every review

All five follow the same order, so any two can be read side by side without hunting for the equivalent paragraph: what the app is, what the free tier actually gives you, the full pricing table including the second currency, whether the company behind it is traceable and how refunds work, and finally who it suits and who should skip it.

Every figure comes from the provider’s own pricing page, terms of service or help centre. Where a source contradicts itself — and two of these do — the review says so instead of quietly picking the friendlier number. Infatuated AI’s plans page says a message costs one token while its terms say two; CrushOn AI’s monthly prices have to be reconstructed from a struck-through figure because only the annual rate is published.

The five at a glance

The single most useful thing to know before opening any of them is that the subscription price is rarely the price. Three of the five bill you again in a second currency for anything that is not text.

SpicyChat is the only one with no second currency at all, which is why its $5.00 is the only figure in that column you can take at face value. At the other end, Candy AI’s $13.99 covers unlimited text and essentially nothing else — reviewers who use the media features report real monthly spending of $25 to $80.

Which review to read first

Depends on what is actually driving the decision:

• You want to try before paying. Start with SpicyChat or OurDream — the only two whose free tiers are usable rather than decorative.
• You want images, voice and video. Candy AI does all three best and charges for each; OurDream includes them and runs out of coins instead. Read both and compare the pricing sections.
• Content filters are the problem. CrushOn AI is built on not having them, and has the deepest memory here.
• You are leaving Character AI. Skip the individual reviews and read the alternatives comparison, which is organised around what you are losing rather than around each product.

How often these change

More often than the category admits. In the twelve months to August 2026 the apps here retired a whole pricing tier, cut a free allowance from 150 messages a day to 100, changed token costs, and moved image generation between plans. Two of them quietly altered what the free tier includes without announcing it.

Every review carries the month its figures were verified, and the whole set is re-checked monthly. If you find something out of date before we do, tell us — it gets fixed the same week.
