What this site is
GFRated compares AI girlfriend and AI companion apps on the things that decide whether you will still be using one next month: what the free tier really gives you, what the plan costs month to month rather than on an annual commitment, whether there is a second currency on top, and whether the company behind it is traceable.
Most comparisons in this category are affiliate pages that copy each other. Several of the apps here get around half their traffic through affiliate links, which is why you will find so many near-identical “reviews” quoting prices that stopped being true a year ago. The point of difference here is narrow and deliberate: every number is one you can go and check.
Who runs it
GFRated is run independently, by one editor rather than an agency or a media group. There is no newsroom here and no attempt to pretend there is: the work is reading pricing pages and terms of service carefully, keeping the figures current, and writing down what they mean.
That has an obvious limit, and it is stated on the methodology page rather than buried: we do not hold subscriptions to these apps, so nothing here is a first-hand account of using one. What we can promise is that every number is one you can go and verify at the source, which is more than most comparisons in this category offer.

How it is funded
Through affiliate commissions. When you sign up to an app through a link here, we may be paid a share of what you spend, at no extra cost to you. That relationship is set out in full on the disclosure page, and the rules it operates under are on the methodology page: no paid placement, no removal of criticism, and the commission never decides the order.
The honest version of the incentive: we are paid more when you subscribe to something expensive. That is exactly why the pages spend so much space on what a subscription does not include — a reader who cancels in week two is worth nothing to us either.
Age and content
Every app compared here is for adults only, and several run their own age or identity checks. This site is not intended for anyone under 18 and does not host adult material itself. If you are looking for support rather than a product, a crisis or helpline service in your country is the right place.
